“While I am disappointed to hear that the planned development project at 5220 Wisconsin Avenue Northwest in Ward 3 has been put up for sale before the project was completed, I am heartened to hear that there is a strong likelihood that the planned development, a green building with retail and residential space, will still be built by a potential new owner,” Councilwoman Mary Cheh, D-Ward 3, said in a statement.

“I will be closely monitoring this situation for future developments,” Cheh continued, “and I hope that a new owner will choose to move forward with few to no changes to the existing plan.”

Now is a great time to buy a home, according to Jason Walker, a loan officer with Union National Mortgage Co., in Lee’s Summit. Union National Mortgage is the preferred lender for Rausch Coleman Homes.

“Some people are thinking, ‘Didn’t I just hear the opposite of that?’  ” Walker said. “But with some of the lowest rates in history and housing prices at an all-time low, the current market has created an incredible opportunity for you to buy a home. Isn’t the best time to get in on an investment at the ground level — before appreciation peaks?”
